I’m sure many of you have come across quotes like:
“Everything is hard before it is easy.”
“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”
“Magic is believing in yourself. If you can do that, you can make anything happen.”
“Nothing is worth more than this day. You cannot relive yesterday, and tomorrow is still beyond your reach.”
But not many people know who the author of these powerful words is.
These quotes were written by someone so remarkable that even the great physicist Albert Einstein—yes, the man behind the famous formula E=MC²—admired him deeply. In a letter to Leopold Casper in 1932, Einstein wrote that he admired Goethe as “a poet without peer, and as one of the smartest and wisest men of all time.”
Yes, that’s right — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
And did you know? In the world of roses, there’s a beautiful variety named in his honor: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Rose.
Let me share with you some photos of this rose grown by me, right here in our tropical climate.
