Austin (the United Kingdom) and was introduced in 2005 by David Austin Roses Limited (UK).
Part of the English Rose Collection, the Summer Song rose boasts a captivating burnt orange color with lighter reverse and yellow undertones. Its strong, fruity, tea fragrance is truly delightful and with 80 to 90 petals, this rose is sure to make a statement in your garden. The large, very full bloom (41+ petals) is cupped with an old-fashioned form, and blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Not only is the Summer Song rose stunning to look at, but it also has a tall, bushy, upright growth habit with medium, semi-glossy, dark green foliage consisting of 5 to 7 leaflets. It reaches a height of 4' (120cm) and a width of 3' (90cm).
This rose is versatile and can be used for cut flowers, garden or hedge. Simply remove spent blooms to encourage rebloom. For spring pruning, remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while in colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
